This new, official release of Zero (Crossbell arc) is a superior game than Sky FC as available on Steam, and though there are references to Sky trilogy, the Crossbell arc is in a geographically different setting, with green characters starting at level 1. I agree with the first response you got, but here is a longer winded one if yourself (or others) are still on the fence. Love it how people are always only too happy to answer this question any number of times. If you don't think you will do such a thing, start at the beginning of the sub series interesting you. So if you intend to play several sub series, probably start at the oldest. Each sub series happens in a different country, and you'll encounter characters from the previous sub series' story arcs.Įach sub series can perfectly be enjoyed without playing the previous ones, but plenty of conversations and scenes will have a way bigger emotional impact if you've played the previous ones, and plenty of references or details will only be understood and put together if you've played the previous games.īut the main story of each arc doesn't require you that knowledge. They're pretty long games with lots of text, lots of world building, lots of character building and development througout the full series. You can either start at the beginning of the full series (IE, Trails in the Sky FC), or start at any of the sub series inside it (Trails in the sky FC, Trails from Zero, Trails of Cold Steel 1, or Kuro 1 (not yet out in english) ).
